Today I have a delicious pumpkin recipe for you. It’s a great dish to share with the ones you love. For a little twist I suggest using Gnocchi for the pasta. I wasn’t able to find the pumpkin bratwurst but it will taste just as great with a regular bratwurst. If someone has an awesome alteration to this recipe leave a comment to share it with the rest of the group.
Pumpkin Sausage Pasta
- ½ Onion, diced
- ½ teaspoon Garlic, diced
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Pepper
- 1 ½ cups Chicken Stock
- 1 teaspoon Sage, ground
- 1 can (15 ounce) Pumpkin Puree (not pie blend)
- 1 can (12 ounces) Evaporated Milk
- 1 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
- 1 pound Made in House Whole Foods Market Pumpkin Bratwurst, ground bulk
- 1 pound Pasta, any variety cooked to package directions & drained
Place the Sausage into a skillet over medium heat; brown the sausage on all sides. Drain the sausage; add the garlic, onion, salt and pepper. Sauté until onion is transparent. Add chicken stock and sage allow to simmer for five minutes. Stir in the evaporated milk and pumpkin puree reducing over medium heat. Sprinkle pumpkin pie spice onto the sauce; pour over the pasta. Allow to cook for a few additional minutes. Taste, adjust seasonings with additional salt and pepper if you wish.
